Halen Arrow Minor’s Minister Application

What do you see as your major strengths or talents?
My major strengths and talents stem from my many years working with body modification starting in 2010 as a piercer and moving into heavier modification. This has given me the ability to listen, guide and assist in more than just mods but all aspects of life. Giving me patience and understanding. I am a hardworking individual that puts everything I have into what I do.
What do you feel are your major weaknesses?
I tend to be quite analogical when talking about some things and that can come off brash. I tend to procrastinate more than I would like.
What previous experience do you have that relates to being a minister in the CoBM?
I have been a spiritual guide in a pegan group of people teaching the ritualistic modification to other modifiers. This has helped me teach and guide people in different modifications to help them feel more connected and whole.

With working in the tattoo and piercing industry I have worked with many modified individuals and even have mentored many as well. With this experience I have gained a lot of experience working with people to assist them in a positive manner.
In your own words, what do you know about the CoBM and being a minister in it?
The church of body modification is a collection of likeminded individuals that have the same goal of connecting the mind, body, and soul via modification and manipulation of the body. Thus connecting one to the universe in a way that words will never be able to fully describe. Being a minister in the church is that of someone being able to help the members, associates, and general public come to an understanding of what we stand for. This is helping people understand we are no different from others because we connect differently. The community we are building is positive, informative and accepting.
Why do you want to be a minister in the CoBM?
I want to be a part of helping others in their journey. Sharing experiences, listening to others, assisting this community in becoming a part of the public and assist it being accepted.
What do you think you can contribute as a minister?
I have many years of technical and ritual experience that I can share with people to assist them in questions they have about different modifications and rituals. I am an open book on these types of things. I am also always willing to go out and share what the church is about to with people that would be interested to learn about it from just understanding or interest in becoming part of it.
What have you contributed thus far as a member?
I uphold a strong moral standing within the modification and piercing community showing that the ritual side of it is not something that you should stray away from. Teaching that it is ok to feel something more when getting that new piercing or embracing that euphoria of suspension.
Where would you like to see the CoBM 5 years from now?
I would like to see the church accepted in more of a universal form. People understanding it and knowing it is not something to be afraid to embrace.
Aside from the CoBM, what are your personal goals for the next 5 years?
I want to be more involved in teaching seminars about modification and piercing.
What would you do if you overheard someone speaking negatively about the CoBM?
I would first seek to understand what has caused them to have these negative feelings of the church. From there adjust accordingly to help them see the church in a better light. Showing that we are not something that is negative and we are just here to assist in people being the best versions of them selves via modifications connecting us to something higher.
The CoBM has evolved greatly since inception. As a minister, you will be expected to be knowledgeable about the various evolutionary steps the CoBM has taken. If someone questioned you about the current status and goals of the Church, how would you compare and contrast the Church’s current state against previous years and under previous management?
Explain the church has undergone many changes in the years it has been around looking to improve. Sometimes people don’t always align in what the goal is as why management has adapted to better suit helping people connect mind, body and soul by body modification.
List all of your modifications, past and present. Then choose one of those mods and describe what spiritual significance it has for you.
Starting with suspension I have done multiple over the last 13 years I have been suspending I feel this one would best describe my connection spiritually with modification. It brings me to a place of enlightenment and bliss. No words can truly describe the feeling. Best way to say it would be a feeling of being complete.

Finally last would be my tongue split with more mods to come.
What do you think the differences are between a person who modifies their body with piercings, tattoos, etc, and a person who never explores body modification?
At the end of the day we are all people just trying to experience life. Saying we are different doesn’t make anyone less or more. We are all people that want to be accepted. Only difference is the way we look and worship that is it.
Can a person with only a navel or ear piercing claim to be as spiritually modified as someone with brandings and a split tongue?
I see people getting navel piercings and lobes done all the time and that reaction they get is no different from someone doing suspension. They feel empowered. They feel more them. This is what we all want from mods even as simple as some lobes. We all experience something and it brings us closer to feeling complete
